In January 2016, my youngest brother, MichaelAngelo, was committed into the psychiatric ward of UCLA hospital due to excessive mood imbalances.
Our days were a litany of emotional, physical exhaustion. Daily, we drove to visit him for the three short visiting hours, two and a half hours there and at least three hours in traffic on the way home. Each day further deepened my experience of my parents' strong, faithful love towards their son.
Those five days were filled with an intensity of emotion that overwhelmed and exhausted us, as we committed ourselves to loving each other and trying to hold on to hope during those hard, hard days.
